Do you suffer from Allergies?

Hello,

Right now all the flowers and trees are blossoming and the pollen is blowing in the wind! I love this time of year however I understand how difficult it is when you suffer from a pollen allergy which can be called Hay fever. It is a common allergic condition that affects up to one in five people at some point in their life.

Symptoms of hay fever include:
sneezing
a runny nose
itchy eyes

Pollen is a fine powder released by plants as part of their reproductive cycle. It contains proteins that can cause the nose, eyes, throat and sinuses (small air-filled cavities behind your cheekbones and forehead) to become swollen, irritated and inflamed.
You can have an allergy to:
tree pollen, released during spring
grass pollen, released during the end of spring and beginning of summer
weed pollen, released late autumn

Who’s affected
Hay fever is one of the most common allergic conditions. You can get hay fever at any age, although it usually begins in childhood or during the teenage years. It’s more common in boys than girls. In adults, men and women are equally affected.
You’re more likely to develop hay fever if you have a family history of allergies, particularly asthma or eczema.
Tips:
1. Wear wraparound sunglasses to stop pollen getting in your eyes when you’re outdoors
2. Take a shower and changing your clothes after being outdoors to remove the pollen on your body
3. Stay indoors when the pollen count is high (over 50 grains per cubic meter of air)
applying a small amount of Aloe Vera Gel to the nasal openings to trap pollen grains
4. Use natural health modalities such as nutrition, supplements and essential oils which help the body re- establish its homeostasis in turn lessen the symptoms and in some instances completely eradicate the allergy .

Here is a video that has an Essential Oil Formulation to help you if you suffer from Allergies and Sinus!

I know this formulation will help you to breath better and enjoy your Summer!!

They are having excellent results and really enjoying their the foods, juices and starting to really use the recipes that we offer them in the program. My daughter, Zoe helped with the recipes because she has always loved to cook and it was fun for her to develop the menus and help make these healthy and anti-inflammatory recipes. All of the Dynamic Detoxers have decided to continue on the 7 day  part of program. This is truly awesome. Below is photo of the organic fruits and vegetable juices that they drink each day to give them vitamins, minerals and enzymes.

Essential for Sore Muscles

Hello Everyone,
Back to school  is the time for children, teenagers, and professional athletes to start participating in weekly sporting events such as  football, volleyball, cross country and much more . This can mean sore muscles. There is nothing better than a massage with essential oils to relieve the muscle tension, inflammation and soreness. Essential oils are soothing, anti-inflammatory and analgesic. The first blend that I like to use for sore muscles is Recover blend made with Wintergreen, Camphor, Rosemary, Cajeput, Siberian Pine, Clove, Helichrysum, Juniper berries, Peppermint and Frankincense. This blend combines essential oils that help to reduce inflammation and stimulate circulation which helps to ease pain. By adding more Peppermint to the blend it increases its anti-inflammatory properties. I also have added Lemon to the formulation because Lemon contains Limonene known to break up uric acid and stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory systems. This helps the muscles to release the uric acid leaving the muscles soothed and relaxed.

Heres the  Essential Sore Muscle formulation:

6 drops Recover Soothing Blend
8 drops Peppermint essential oil
6 drops Lemon essential oil
2oz. Carrier oil

Place essential oils and carrier oil in 2oz bottle. Roll between your hands and until ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Place on sore muscles twice daily.

For Children 6 years and up: Do not use the Recover soothing blend- Use 3 drops Peppermint and 3 drops Lemon in 2oz carrier oil.
Contraindications: Do not use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, and people with sensitivity to aspirin (salicylate)- this often applies to ADD/ADHD.

Summer Stings: Lavender, Peppermint , Tea Tree with Clay

Hello Everyone,
Right now, I am visiting family in sunny California and as we all know no matter where you live this is the time of year that we can be stung by mosquitoes, horse flies, yellow jackets, no see -ums, hornets and bees. I find essential oils and clay combined make an excellent remedy for this kind of challenge. When we are stung : #1 it hurts, #2 it can become inflamed and swollen. #3 it can itch and when scratched it can become infected.#4 allergic reaction; if you are allergic please seek medical advice immediately.

The essential oils of Lavender, Tea Tree and Peppermint are the ones that I, personally use when I have bitten by an insect. Lavender is known for its soothing and calming properties which is very beneficial after being bitten. The known antiseptic properties of Tea Tree help with any bacteria that could be picked up by the insect or from scratching the bite. I use Peppermint because of its natural analgesic properties due to its menthol content. The traditionally known benefits of Bentonite Clay is that it draws out impurities while taking down inflammation and swelling.

check out my video on Youtube for the recipe to help with Summer Stings.

Lavender, Lavender All day has been Lavender

Hello Everyone,

Today, has been such a hot, sunny yet calm day with the Lavender ( Lavandula officinalis) is being harvested. My friend, Joel who has been helping to take care of the plants on Domaine de Castillou, in the South of France where I live. Domaine de Castillou is an organic farm where lavender, rosemary, sage and 3 different kinds of thyme are grown.

The harvest started this morning : in the large fields the lavender was cut by machine however the smaller fields in the hills were cut by hand by my dear friend Joel. He showed me how to cut the lavender by hand. My daughter Zoe filmed us in the lavender field which you will see on this blog. Most people who are close to me understand that Lavender is a very special plant and essential oil to me. It is the essential oil that introduced to me how effective essential oils can be on the nervous system. Here is my Love Story about Lavender essential oil. My son, Burt had

Lavender on Domaine de Castillou

Zoe, my daughter, Joel harvester and I cutting Lavender on Domaine de Castillou

stuttered since the age of four. He often repeated words like, You see, you see, you see.” From the ages of four to six , I took him to a speech pathologist for this stuttering problem. The pathologist said, the school system would probably lose him between the cracks, because he most likely wouldn’t qualify for help.

This is exactly what happened I made unsuccessful attempts to get him into a program. During fourth grade we changed schools and he was finally accepted into a speech therapy program but refused to go because he was embarrassed. When Burt was nine years old, we started putting five to ten drops of Lavender in his bath each night after reading that Lavender was calming. After one month we all realized Burt was no longer strutting. This is what convinced us to start experimenting with essential oils. Burt will be 34 years old in July and still uses Lavender in his bath. He no longer stutters. He has realized this is his signature plant.  A signature plant is one that helps the person come back in balance. Lavender plant person when imbalanced hits their heads a lot and doesn’t watch for themselves. This has happened to my son Burt many times. You see Burt is cowboy, horse chiropractor and horse shoer. He has been bucked off, fallen on and been in my different kinds of situations with horses. Burt has hit his head a few times you could say and lavender has always revived him. I love Burt and Lavender. They are meant for each other.
