How to Clear your Mental and Physical Toxicity Lemon

January Health Forecast: Maintaining Mental Clarity and Physical Strength with Lemon

When I arrived at my home in California, I headed to my garden to see my beautiful lemon tree. The size of it had doubled with lots of lemons. As I reached to take one, the tree’s sharp thorns stuck me in the hand. This woke me up real quick, just like the essential oil of lemon does with its sharp refreshing, and clearing aroma that helps you when feeling apathetic, and overwhelmed with mental fatigue. The aroma of lemon essential oil derived from the peel of the fresh lemon comes from the chemical constituent limonene. In recent studies (Koyama et al., 2020), limonene has been shown to have a strong impact on the microbiota, especially lactobacillus in the gut, and helps give you numerous benefits for mental and physical health.

How Lemon works for Headaches!

At a Herb Fair in Wine Country, I had a booth where people came to seek help for their health challenges. One day, two couples approached me, and one of them had a headache due to a hangover. They asked me which essential oil would be good for it. Upon examining the person, I noticed swelling under his eyes, which indicated dehydration and fluid retention. I asked him to smell all the essential oils in the formulation below and rate them in order of preference. He liked all of them, and lemon was his preferred essential oil. So, I suggested he drink plenty of water, continue smelling lemon essential oil directly out of the bottle, and apply the headache formulation to his temples, forehead, and back of his neck. One hour later, he returned to my booth and said, “I had to come back and tell you my headache is gone, and thank you.”

Headache formulation (Hargis, 2015):

12 drops of Lavender Fine for calming the nervous system
8 drops of Peppermint for improving digestion
8 drops of Lemon for fluid retention
6 drops of Rosemary for stimulating circulation
1oz/30ml Almond Oil or Apricot Oil

Combine the essential oils with the Almond or Apricot Oil in a 1oz./30ml bottle. Roll the bottle between your hands to mix the contents. Apply twice daily or as needed to the temples, forehead, back of the neck, and corresponding reflex points on the feet.

Contraindications: Do not use in pregnancy, nursing or with children under three years of age.

If you’re looking for a natural way to relieve headaches, I highly recommend trying out the formulation above I shared from my book, Common Scents, A Practical Guide to Aromatherapy on page 133. It’s a proven method that has helped many people find relief without relying on medication. Give it a try and see if it works for you, too!

Blossoms of Lemon for Mental Fatigue & Toxicity!

The delicate white blossoms of the lemon tree resemble the morning sun, radiating warmth and a welcoming presence. These flowers are used to create a flower essence that can help with patterns of mental fatigue or related toxicity. For instance, mental toxicity can occur when we have been living in a busy, crowded city environment and then travel to the countryside where the space is open and quiet. Have you ever experienced this? I observed this when we had guests at Domaine de Castillou. It was challenging for them to adjust to the expansiveness of the new environment. They preferred the small spaces, conveniences, and streets where they saw many people.

Lemon Flower Essence – Attention Deficient Disorder

Lemon flower essence can help you to mentally integrate both types of environments – expanded and contracted – while maintaining balanced mental clarity and imaginative and artistic capacities.  It also can be helpful when feeling dreamy or suffering from learning disorders including Attention-deficient disorder.

To achieve this, take four drops of Lemon flower essence under the tongue four times daily for 28 days or until you notice a difference.
