October Health Forecast: Are You Feeling Tired & Worn Out?
Many of us may find ourselves feeling drained and fatigued after the summer. Our systems can be overwhelmed by the splurge of activity and our nervous systems unregulated from living intense fast lives and responding to all the outer excitement. Now fall is coming around, the wind gets cooler and the days are growing shorter waving at us to turn inwards.
For our October Health Forecast, I have selected Cinnamon Leaf and Cinnamon Bark essential oils for their rejuvenating and warming properties to enhance your energy levels!
I invite you to have both of these essential oils and to smell them one after the other as I do in the video to appreciate the different aspects they bring.
Cinnamon essential oil is derived from the leaves or the bark of the Cinnamomum zeylanicum syn. Cinnamomum verum tree traditionally used for its toning and purifying properties.
Cinnamon leaf essential oil is very hot and spicy, it warms you up as soon as you smell it. It is a very powerful antiviral, antibacterial and anti parasitic ally. The leaves of cinnamon contain a high quantity of eugenol, a chemical constituent also found in clove buds, making the essential oil very powerful. Please use cinnamon leaf essential oil with caution, do not use with children under 8 years of age, during pregnancy, lactation and do not apply directly to the skin or take internally. One drop in your essential oil blend will do the trick!
Cinnamon bark essential oil is sweet and round, less poignant than the leaf you feel the protective energy from the bark of the tree manifest in the oil, we want to use during the winter months. It used in the perfumery and cooking.
Safety and contraindications: Both essential oils from Cinnamon should not be used during pregnancy or lactation, keep out of children’s reach and away from eyes. They are dermocaustic, meaning they cause skin irratation, never apply directly to the skin always dilute these essential oils in a carrier oil.
