Learn How to Use Orange Essential Oil!

Hello,
It is my pleasure to share with you one of my favorite essential oils – Sweet Orange. I am from sunny California and this time of the year is when the Oranges which are called Navel Oranges are starting to be harvested and packed for the Holiday season! The botanical name for  the Navel Orange is Citrus sinensis (L.) Persoon (CH.) (Syn : Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck / Citrus aurantium var. dulcis Hayne)  and also is the same botanical name of the Sweet Orange from which the rind is cold pressed for the essential oil.

Harvesting Sweet Oranges

Each year my grandfather brought us fresh oranges to eat from the local orange growers who he and my father sold compost to. It was close to where he lived on the east side of Bakersfield, California. Small orchards of oranges existed then and each farmer grew, harvested and packed them. You could go to their farm stores and purchase oranges. A few of these farms still exist there. Here is one that you can order your holiday oranges from called California Fruit depot on the east side of Bakersfield.

Peeling an orange now invokes the smell of  fresh, sweet, and succulent oranges and  fond memories of my grandfather entering our home with his big box of oranges for us to enjoy during the holiday season. My mother would put them in the bottom of our stockings. I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom of my stocking for that sweet, juicy treat- the orange.

Box of Oranges

Now, no wonder I have high regard for this essential oil and can’t wait to share more with you about Orange essential oil in my Youtube  “Learn How to Use Orange Essential Oil Series.” Each week I will be offering you a new Orange essential oil formulation so you can see how versatile and effective this essential oil really is.
